Garden Stools and Rolling Seats That Keep Your Tools Close
Fewer trips back to the shed and fewer ups and downs can make a garden session more pleasant. Two kinds of products aim at this: a simple stool that doubles as a carrier, and a rolling seat on wheels with storage built in. Below is what the sellers' own pages say, checked on October 21, 2026. We haven't tested these and we don't invent ratings.
A stool that is also a basket
Gardener's Supply's Bamboo Garden Stool and Basket Combo is one piece: flip it one way to carry tools out or a harvest in, flip it over to sit while you weed. Its page lists a 12" stool height, a 10-1/2" basket depth, a weight of 7 lbs and a seat capacity of 250 lbs, and it was priced at $79.99 when we checked. The page says it can't ship to Alaska, Hawaii or US territories.
Worth knowing: a 12" seat is low. It suits ground-level beds; if getting up from a low seat is hard for you, a taller seat may fit better.
A rolling seat with a basket, tray and pouch
The SUGIFT Rolling Garden Cart Scooter sold on Lowe's (through a third-party seller, GALAX PRO) has four 10" air-filled tires, a seat that turns a full circle, and a wire basket, under-seat tray and tool pouch. The listing gives a 330 lb capacity, a net weight of 33.5 lb, an overall size of 37" x 18" with a height of 30" to 34", and a steering handle that extends, rotates or comes off. Cushions on the seat and back detach.
Two honest cautions from the listing itself: it says there's no wheel lock, so park it on flat ground, and it needs about half an hour of assembly. At over 33 lb it's also not something you'll want to lift often.
A note on a popular older model
You may see the Gorilla Carts Rolling Garden Scooter recommended elsewhere. Its Home Depot page lists a 12" to 16" swiveling seat, a bucket holder, a tool organizer, flat-free tires and a 400 lb capacity, but a reply from the Gorilla team on that same page says the item has been discontinued. Check availability before you get attached to it.
How to choose
- Seat height: compare the listed height with a chair you find easy to rise from.
- Your ground: air-filled or wide tires help on grass and gravel; a light stool is easier to carry up steps.
- Weight to move: 7 lb versus 30-plus lb is a big difference if you store it in a shed.
- Storage: a basket for harvest, a pouch for pruners and gloves.
